The Interlink Foundation’s mission is to create and sustain important works of literature and spaces that uplift marginalized voices to reclaim narratives, expand public discourse, preserve culture, and defend creative expression as acts of power and global solidarity.
We envision a world where our bookshelves reflect the communities that we live in, where every voice is heard and valued, and the transformative power of literature and storytelling fuels a global movement toward equity, widespread cultural representation, and collective liberation.
What We Do
The Interlink Foundation is organized around three program areas. Each program has its own budget, goals, and mechanisms for continuous improvement and growth.
- Interlink Foundation Books addresses the exclusion of diverse voices in mainstream publishing by publishing, translating, or archiving narrative works that capture key cultural moments. Through our own imprint, digital archiving and translation services, an online archive and blog, and our classroom bookshelves initiative, we ensure that essential stories remain accessible for future generations.
- Storyteller Collaborative nurtures writers, illustrators, and literary professionals from underrepresented communities through retreats, community building, and skill development initiatives. Events such as Queer Kidlit Camp and the Arab Writers Retreat offer vital space for creative growth and cultural exchange, supported by a growing network of partnerships.
- Read and Resist engages the public through author tours, community events, and literary gatherings that promote radical storytelling and cross-cultural dialogue. Our speaker series and signature events, including the Read & Resist Festival, draw audiences nationally and locally, while our facility in Western Massachusetts serves as a regional hub for cultural programming.
Together, these programs work to resist cultural erasure, support emerging voices, and build an inclusive literary future.
